Thomas Connolly is a Rhode Island trial attorney handling criminal, civil and traffic matters at the trial and appellate levels in state and federal courts and tribunals. Thomas graduated cum laude from Roger Williams University Law School in 2006, where he served as an Associate Editor of the Law Review.
Thomas began his career in civil practice focusing on tort litigation, complex commercial litigation and civil rights litigation. Thomas served as counsel on a wide range of matters, from multi-million dollar tort and contract disputes, to Rhode Supreme Court appeals, to a nationally publicized First Amendment action.
After years of practice in civil matters, Thomas shifted his focus to criminal defense. For several years Thomas practiced as the Assistant Public Defender in Newport Rhode Island, where he earned a reputation as a passionate and effective advocate for indigent clients on criminal charges and violations of bail and probation.
Thomas has won favorable results at trial and pretrial for literally thousands of clients charged with crimes, from DUIs to Domestics and a wide range of other criminal charges. Thomas has briefed and argued before the Rhode Island Supreme Court on civil and criminal matters of first impression.
Thomas is admitted to practice in Rhode Island State and Federal Courts, Massachusetts State and Federal Courts and Connecticut.
